KW&SB - MANAGING DIRECTORS
Graduated in 1980, from Mehran Engineering University Jamshoro, Sindh, Mr Qutubuddin Shaikh stared his career as a professional civil engineer in 1981 by joining Ex-KDA in capacity of Assistant Executive Engineer with the then water service of Karachi, with assorted experience of Applied Civil Works in the field. On creation of KW&SB as a unified water and sewerage service for the Karachi city, he was transferred to new born entity being among the founding peers. By virtue of his inborn ardor, soon he was adopted in the development wing of KW&SB to work on foreign added mega project like K-II, the Phase-II of the Greater Karachi Bulk Supply Project of 100-MGD.
He has undergone extensive training and orientation of Water Management all the way through his career in terms of international seminars, symposiums, workshops and study trips around the world including England, Australia, France, Thailand, Singapore, etc. His illustrious Project Management profile spreading over 25 years includes successes of system strengthening project and the city wide rehabilitation of Water Supply System after completion of K-II Project. He has been catalyst in implementation many other important works like Hub Treatment Plant, Hub Pumping Station 100-MGD, Pipri Treatment Plant, 50-MGD through JICA/JBIC. Variety of this experience gives special position of a resource to him on contract management and foreign aided projects.
Having worked his way up to the top of management, his hard earned excellence elevated him as Chief Engineer Water Distribution, Deputy Managing Director (Revenue and Resource Generation) and Managing Director at KW&SB besides working with Sindh Government in the Special Initiative department, GOS until he has been posted again as Managing Director, KW&SB for the 2nd tenure in August, 2013.
